You can try to explain them about the less expensive alternatives and offer it to them instead of what you initially wanted to sell, still you can add a couple of bucks more to their original bill.

9) Be understated

You do not have to be so obvious that your patrons come to know that you are up selling. Do not try to increase sales of each course. You can increase your chances of up selling even by providing good service.

10) Do not try to be aggressive

No one wants to be pressurized and if you are aggressive you might lose patron and their business. If they ask for suggestions, it is advisable to help them with few options instead of offering every option from the menu. Focus on the relevant options.

Finally, you should be patient with patrons and try to answer their questions so that it will be easier for them to decide on their order. By following these tips, your efforts will pay off and you will be able to increase sales and boost profits.
